Chevy burns up the track at TMS

Every once in a while an opportunity comes by that you just can’t pass up.  Thursday,  April 7, 2011, was Chevy Day at the Texas Motor Speedway.    When Judy Kouba Dominick, Chevy Racing, NASCAR Trackside Communication Representative  asked me if I would like to take a couple of laps in one of the Camaro Convertibles there was no hesitation.  Once there, I was driven around the track by Clint Bowyer who will be driving the #33 Chevy Impala in Saturday’s Samsung Mobile 500.  All I can say is that the ride was enjoyable and smooth, as if you were gliding over the race track.  The ride was over but the experience will not be forgotten.

Other drivers taking fans around the track were Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, Ryan Newman, and Juan Pablo Montoya.

Team Chevy Test Drive onsite Thursday, Friday & Saturday.  Test Drive will feature (12) production vehicles.  Consumers will need to drive another model prior to driving the Camaro.  Test Drive will operate the same hours as the display.  There will be offering a golf cart shuttle to the Test Drive location from the display locations.   Test Drive vehicles include:  (3) Camaro Convertible, Malibu, Cruze LS, Cruze 2LT, Equinox mocha, Equinox Red, Traverse, Tahoe, Silverado 1500 Crew, Silverado 2500 White.
