Cowboys 21, Panthers 7

The Dallas Cowboys win for the 1st time in their new stadium with a 21-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

The Cowboys continued to play strong defense against the run, allowing only 73 yards on the ground.  The pass defense finally recorded a sack (3) and an interception (2).

It was a good thing the defense stepped up, because the offense still hurt itself with mistakes.

Quarterback Tony Romo made up for his poor showing from a week ago by playing turnover free. The Dallas running game once again surprised everyone, gaining  212 yards without Marion Barber. Running backs Felix Jones and Tashard Choice kept the Panthers on their heels all day.  Unfortunately, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett continued to make questionable calls.  It appeared for the 2nd game in a row, that Garrett would give up on the running game and try to pass his way to a first down or touchdown.

The offensive line also looked lost at times, committing several penalties at crucial moments of the game. Tackle Flozell Adams continues to commit infractions, costing the team precious yardage.

In the end, though, the Cowboys played well enough to win, and in the process showed the explosiveness we all hoped would appear.
