In a game no one wanted to see, the Dallas Cowboys had their most entertaining game of the preseason. With none of their starters playing, the Dallas Cowboys pulled off a 27-25 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
3rd-string quarterback Stephen McGee played the entire game, throwing for over 300 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. McGee threw to 11 different receivers and led the Cowboys on an 89 yard drive in the final 2 minutes, setting up David Buehler’s 31 yard game-winning field goal.
Buehler showed he can do more than kick touchbacks, as he went 4-for-4 on field goals. In addition to the game winner, Buehler connected from as far away as 51 yards.
Dallas will go to Washington for the season opener on September 12.
