Cowboys lose to Texans 23-7

The Dallas Cowboys were humiliated again by the Houston Texans 23-7 in the preseason dress rehearsal.  The starters played into the 3rd quarter and were dominated on both sides of the ball.  Tony Romo and the offense looked concerned that they still haven’t been able to score.  John Kitna led Dallas to it’s only touchdown early in the 4th quarter.

The Good

The only good thing in this game is that it is one game closer to the end of a dismal preseason.  Even in their victories, the team has not looked good.

The Bad

The physical effort by the Cowboys.  Dallas is getting beat on the line of scrimmage.  Tony Romo has been hit on almost every drive, something that should not be happening in meaningless games.  The triple-threat running game has been no threat at all, with Dallas only gaining 13 yards rushing against Houston.

The Ugly

The Dallas starting offense has not scored a touchdown in the preseason.  The few times they get into the red zone, they seem to move backwards or turn the ball over.  One of the big question marks going into the season, David Buehler’s field goal ability was not even evaluated because Dallas could not get into range.  The game was so ugly, head coach Wade Phillips may choose to play his starters in the final preseason game this week at home in Cowboys Stadium.
