FOX Sports Southwest announces 2011 Texas Rangers television schedule

FOX Sports Southwest today announced its 2011 Texas Rangers television schedule, which features 130 games produced in high-definition. Coverage begins with the season opener on Friday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m. CT against the Boston Red Sox from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The telecasts will be available to over 10 million cable and satellite TV subscribers in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico. Some games will be carried on FOX Sports Southwest Plus in Southern region markets when they conflict with other live event programming scheduled in those areas.

Former FOX Sports Southwest anchor John Rhadigan makes his debut in 2011 as the Rangers’ television play-by-play announcer. He’ll be joined by former Rangers player and general manager Tom Grieve, who is back for his 17th season as analyst. Jim Knox returns for his 12th season as roving reporter on home games.

RANGERS LIVE pregame and postgame shows complement FOX Sports Southwest’s game coverage. The 30-minute programs feature in-depth previews, highlights, player profiles, clubhouse interviews, manager Ron Washington’s postgame press conference and perspective and analysis by former Rangers infielder Mark McLemore and former major league pitcher Steve Busby.

Dana Larson hosts RANGERS LIVE with Emily Jones reporting. Home game shows will again originate from a set in the left-field concourse at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, giving fans an opportunity to watch the live broadcasts in person.

FOX Sports Southwest’s season-long Rangers coverage includes LUNCH WITH THE RANGERS, a weekday series at noon CT featuring one-hour condensed replays from the previous day; RANGERS INSIDER, a weekly magazine show; and episodes of the network’s interview and biography series’ IN MY OWN WORDS, SPOTLIGHT and UNDER THE LIGHTS highlighting Rangers players and management.
