Holland Gives Rangers Another Shutout Victory

Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland won his 10th game of the season with a 3-0 road shutout of the Toronto Blue Jays.   Holland gave up just 4 singles as he pitched his 3rd shutout in 5 games.  His 4 shutouts are the most by any Ranger pitcher since 1981.  The club record is 6.

Mitch Moreland opened the scoring for the Rangers with a 2-run blast in the 2nd inning.  It is Moreland’s 13th home run of the year, and first off a left-handed pitcher.  Mike Napoli hit a solo home run in the 8th inning.  It is Napoli’s 15th homer of the season, 5th during the month of July.

The Rangers finish the series at Toronto tomorrow afternoon.
