Ian Poulter and Ryan Moore Among Latest Charles Schwab Challenge Commitments
|The Charles Schwab Challenge field continues to add depth with the addition of PGA Tour winners Ian Poulter, Ryan Moore, C.T. Pan, Brendan Steele and Kevin Streelman to the list of players who will be at Colonial Country Club for the PGA Tour’s return June 11-14.
Poulter will be making his seventh trip to Colonial where he has three top-15 finishes including a tie for fifth in 2015. He has three PGA Tour wins on his resume including the 2010 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and the 2012 WGC-HSBC Champions. His most recent PGA Tour victory came in the state of Texas when he captured the 2018 Houston Open in a playoff over Beau Hossler.
Pan returns to Colonial on the heels of his third place showing a year ago. His final round 69 saw him finish five shots behind champion Kevin Na. His first PGA Tour win came at the 2019 RBC Heritage.
Moore, the 2004 U.S. Amateur champions, is returning to Colonial for the eighth time in his career, but the first time since 2017. He has five PGA Tour titles to his credit including the 2012 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in his hometown of Las Vegas.
Steele has three PGA Tour wins including his inaugural triumph at the 2011 Valero Texas Open in San Antonio. He came close to capturing victory No. 4 earlier this year when he fell in a sudden death playoff to Cameron Smith at the Sony Open in Hawaii. This will be Steele’s fourth appearance at Colonial.
Streelman is returning to Colonial for the 11th time in the last 12 years. The two-time PGA Tour winner’s best showing in Fort Worth is a tie for 10th in 2011. In the 2019-20 season, he has two top finishes including a runner-up at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am that was won by Nick Taylor.
The 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge field currently has six of the top 10 in the world including Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson committed to playing at Colonial.
