As the Charles Schwab Challenge buzz continues to grow and it gains the vibe of a major, Jason Day, Patrick Reed and Danny Williett are among the latest major champions to add their names to the early commitments for the PGA Tour’s scheduled return the week of June 8-14 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Day, a former Fort Worth resident who has a tie for fourth as his best finish in four trips to Colonial, will be returning to the event for the first time since 2011. His first of 12 PGA Tour titles came at the 2010 AT&T Byron Nelson when it was played at the TPC Four Seasons in Las Colinas. The former No. 1 player in the world’s resume also includes the 2015 PGA Championship, the 2016 The Players Championship and two World Golf Championship-Dell Technologies Match Play titles.

Reed has made the cut in all three of his previous appearances at Colonial, highlighted by a tie for 15th in his most recent appearance in 2016. The 2018 Masters champion has won eight times on the PGA Tour including two WGCs and two FedEx Cup Playoff events.

Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, is set to make his Colonial debut. He also has seven European Tour titles including last September’s BMW PGA Championship where he topped Jon Rahm by three shots.

Notables who have already committed to playing in the Charles Schwab Challenge include Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson, Max Homa, Tommy Fleetwood, Webb Simpson, Bryson DeChambeau, Zach Johnson, Viktor Hovland and Matt Wolff.
