Matt Kuchar, Collin Morikowa, Keegan Bradley and Joaquin Niemann are among the latest to join the stacked field at the Charles Schwab Challenge for the PGA Tour‘s return at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
Nine-time PGA Tour winner Kuchar, currently ranked No. 17 in the world golf rankings, gives Colonial 16 of the top 20 in the world in its deep field. This will be Kuchar’s 12th appearance at Colonial that features three top 10s including a solo second in 2013. His best finish this season is a tie fro second at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club.
Morikowa is a two-time finalist for the Ben Hogan Award, including last year when he was a finalist alongside Matthew Wolff and award-winner Viktor Hovland. The three of them all joined the PGA Tour last summer and all three of them won a PGA Tour event in their rookie campaigns. Morikowa was runner up to Wolff in the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities and captured his first victory two weeks later at the Barracuda Championship at Tahoe Mountain Club’s Old Greenwood. This will be Morikowa’s Colonial debut.
Bradley, winner of the 2011 PGA Championship, is making his second appearance at Colonial. The four-time PGA Tour winner is currently ranked No. 62 in the world rankings. His most recent PGA Tour victory came in 2018 at the BMW Championship in a playoff over Justin Rose.
Niemann will be making his third consecutive Colonial appearance highlighted by a tie for 8th in his debut in 2018. The 21 year-old captured his first PGA Tour victory in the 2019 A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.
The Charles Schwab Challenge field currently has the top five players in the world and seven of the top 10 committed to playing at Colonial. The deadline for players to commit to the tournament is June 5th at 5 p.m.
