Moreland Powers Rangers Past White Sox

Mitch Moreland hit 2 home runs for a career-high 5 RBI’s as the Texas Rangers defeated the Chicago White Sox 7-4 Friday night in Chicago.

Moreland has 9 hits in his last 16 at-bats, with 9 RBI’s in that stretch.  Josh Hamilton also added a solo home run in the 6th inning.

Texas was held to just 7 hits, but made them count, leaving only 4 on base.

Starting pitcher Matt Harrison had a difficult night, lasting only 4 1/3 innings.  Reliever Yoshi Tateyama gets this win, his 2nd as a Ranger.  Neftali Feliz is credited with the save.

Texas remains 6 games ahead of the Angels, who also won Friday night.  The 9th game of this road trip continues tonight in Chicago.
