The Rangers are the first team to get 50 wins after defeating the Oakland Athletics 7-2 on Saturday. The Rangers have won three of the four games in the series.

Martin Perez got his first MLB pitching start for the Rangers in the game and was very impressive. In 5 1/3 innings, Perez only gave up 2 runs and 5 hits. He also had 5 strikeouts in his first start after being promoted from the minor league.

Josh Hamilton led the hitting display in the 5 inning with his 25th home run that led to three Rangers points and gave the Rangers a 6-2 cushion that they weren’t giving up. Hamilton finished with 4 RBI’s, 2 hits and a run. Ian Kinsler also came up strong in the 5th inning with a single that allowed two Rangers to score. Kinsler had 2 RBI’s, a hit and a run in the game.

A’s pitcher Tommy Milone played five innings and gave up 6 hits and 6 runs in the loss. The Oakland offense couldn’t seem to find their hitting against the new pitcher as they only had 6 hits for the game. First baseman Chris Carter finished with a home run and had 2 hits, 2 runs and an RBI for the game.

The Rangers look to sweep the A’s as they play the fourth game of the Series on Sunday. First pitch is in Arlington at 6:05 p.m.
