Rangers beat Angels 7-1

The Texas Rangers claimed 1st place in the AL West with a convincing 7-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night.

Starting pitcher C.J. Wilson gave up only 1 run in 7 innings.  He struck out 9 on the way to his 2nd win of the season.

Five Rangers got multiple hits as the Texas bats came alive in the 1st game of a long homestand.  Adrian Beltre and Mitch Moreland each homered for the Rangers.  Ian Kinsler got out of his slump with a double and triple on the night.  Elvis Andrus had 3 hits to lead the team.

Game 2 of the series is Tuesday night at 7:05pm.
