Rangers blank White Sox

Colby Lewis pitched a complete game as the Texas Rangers shut out the White Sox 4-0 Monday night in Chicago. 

Lewis gave up 5 hits and struck out 7 in his 4th consecutive game of over 7 innings.  Rangers manager Ron Washington said of Lewis, “He had everything working tonight.  Spotting his fastball, had a real good slider. His changeup, he moved it around and kept them off balance.”

Endy Chavez, starting in right field for the Rangers went 3 for 5 from the leadoff spot to spark the Texas bats.  Michael Young and Adrian Beltre each got 2 hits.  Ian Kinsler got 2 RBIs with a single in the 6th inning to cap the scoring.

The win puts the Rangers back into first place in the AL West as the Angels lost in 10 innings to the A’s.  Texas and Chicago continue Tuesday night.
