Rangers Complete Sweep of Indians

The Texas Rangers capped a 4-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians with a 2-0 victory Sunday.  It is the second consecutive shutout for the Rangers, and the sixth shutout in the last 20 games. 

C.J. Wilson pitched 7 2/3 innings, giving up just 3 hits while striking out 7 for his 6th win of the season.  Reliever Neftali Feliz earned his 13th save.

Mitch Moreland and Elvis Andrus each hit solo home runs for the Rangers.  Moreland’s came in the 2nd inning, followed by Andrus’ in the 3rd.  David Murphy also had a good night at the plate, going 3-for-4.  Endy Chavez went 1-for-3 while playing for Josh Hamilton, who had the day off for rest.

The Rangers have won 10 of their last 14 and are 8 games over .500 for the first time since beginning the season 9-1.  Texas went 6-1 on this road trip.

The Rangers have a 3-game homestand against Detroit which starts Monday.
