Rangers Fall To Angels

The Texas Rangers gave up 5 home runs to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night to lose 8-4 in a crucial series.

Starting pitcher CJ Wilson doubled the amount of home runs given up in a game with 4 as he gets his 6th loss of the year.  Wilson gave up 6 runs on 10 hits in 5 innings.  Wilson was obviously not happy with his performance, “I gave up a home run on a changeup, a slider, a fastball and a sinker. It was a smorgasbord of bad home-run pitches tonight.”

Reliever Koji Uehara also had a rough outing, giving up 3 hits in 1 inning, including a 2-run home run which sealed the game for the Angels.

The Texas offense was sluggish again as they could only muster 6 hits, 3 of them by Nelson Cruz.  David Murphy again had a home run from the DH spot for the Rangers.

The Rangers lead over the Angels in the AL West has diminished to just 2 games.  The two teams play again tonight at the Ballpark in Arlington.
