The Seattle Mariners had double the number of hits (14) than the Texas Rangers in the 10-3 win over the home team at the Ballpark in Arlington.
Rangers pitcher Scott Feldman, placed in the starting rotation as a replacement for the injured Neftali Feliz, failed to last 5 innings. Feldman, 0-3, only gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits.
The game was put out of reach in the 8th inning when relivers Alexi Ogando and Mike Adams gave up 6 runs. The first 7 Seattle batters all reached base in the inning.
Texas only generated 7 hits in the game, one of them a home run by Josh Hamilton. It is Hamilton’s 21st of the year.
The Rangers and Mariners close out the series tonight at the Ballpark. First pitch is slated for 7:05pm. Derek Holland will take the mound for Texas.
