Rangers Lose Again In Detroit

The Texas Rangers lost their 9th game in the last 14 with a 5-4 defeat in Detroit on Wednesday night.

Pitcher Matt Harrison gave up a 6th inning home run which broke a 3-3 tie.  Reliever Koji Uehara gave up another in the 8th.  Harrison falls to 9-8 on the season.

Offensively, the Rangers could not turn opportunities into runs, going just 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position.  Rangers manager Ron Washington was not happy with the results, “We just need a little better execution.  We put up as many hits [10] as they did. My offense is good enough to win, we just didn’t do it. We just didn’t get it done.”

Mike Napoli hit a solo home run in the 9th to try and rally the Rangers, but it was too little, too late.

Texas is still clinging to a 1 game lead over the Angels in the AL West as they remain in Detroit to close out the series before returning home to face the Indians.
