Rangers Lose Opener in Minnesota

The Texas Rangers lost to the Minnesota Twins 5-4 Thursday night in Minnesota.  It is the 7th straight loss playing in Minnesota going back to last season.  Texas has never won at Target Field.

Starting pitcher Derek Holland went 7 1/3 innings, giving up 4 runs while striking out 10.  Holland did not get a decision.  Mark Lowe earned the loss after putting 2 men on base in the bottom of the 9th.  Minnesota won on a single by Alexi Casilla which scored Luke Hughes.

Josh Hamilton put the Rangers up early with a solo home run in the 1st inning.  Nelson Cruz added a sole homer in the 8th.  Catcher Yorvit Torrealba went 3-for-4.

Texas will try to get their first win at Target Field tonight with C.J. Wilson on the mound.
