Rangers lose series to Angels

The Texas Rangers not only lost a home series to the L.A. Angels, they also lost the lead of the AL West for the first time since June 8 of last year.  The Angels gave pitcher Jered Weaver his 5th win of the year with a 4-1 victory.

Rangers starter Matt Harrison suffered his first loss of the year, even though he had a decent outing.  Harrison went 6 2/3 innings, giving up just 4 hits while striking out 5.  Texas failed to give Harrison run support as he falls to 3-1.

Michael Young got one of only six hits for the Rangers.  Young has now hit safely in 11 straight games.

This is the third straight series loss for Texas, who will host the Royals beginning Friday night.
