Rangers lose series with Tigers

The Texas Rangers lose their second game in a row to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday at Comerica Park.

Dave Bush, getting his first start of the year pitched 3 shutout innings before turning it over to Mason Tobin.  Tobin went 2 innings, also allowing no runs.  The Rangers offense then scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th for the lead.  Mark Lowe then gave up 2 runs to Detroit in the bottom of the inning which tied the game.

Arthur Rhodes came in to the game for the Rangers and went one inning without allowing any runs.  Darren Oliver came in for the 8th inning and again held the Tigers at bay.  After the Rangers were still unable to score in the top of the 9th, Oliver gave up a walk-off home run to Brandon Inge.

Texas batters stranded 19 during the game.  David Murphy, playing left field for the injured Josh Hamilton went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.

The Rangers stay on the road to face the Yankees on Friday.
