Rangers Lose To Angels

TheTexas Rangers fell to the Los Angeles Angels 7-4 Friday night at the Ballpark.  With th A’s defeating the Mariners, the Texas lead in the AL West is down to 3.

Los Angeles ace Jered Weaver proved too much for the Rangers as he notched his 20th win of the year.  Rangers starter Ryan Dempster was tagged with the loss after giving up 4 runs in 5 2/3 innings.  

Adrian Beltre and Nelson Cruz combined for 5 of the 7 Texas hits in the game.  Cruz went 3-for-3 on the night, including a solo home run in the 7th inning.  Beltre was 2-for-4 with a 2-run home run in the 8th inning.  The blast gave Beltre his 100th RBI of the season.

Texas will host the Angels again this afternoon in Arlington.  First pitch is at 3:05pm.  Derek Holland will take the mound for the Rangers.
