Rangers Lose To Orioles

The Texas Rangers lost to the visiting Baltimore Orioles 5-3 Tuesday night at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Starting pitcher Scott Feldman went into the 5th inning with a 1-1 tie and appeared to be having an easy night.  In the 5th, Baltimore batters hit the cycle, getting a single, double, triple, and a home run to take a 5-1 lead.

The Rangers tried to rally, with Geovany Soto hitting a 2-run home run which scored David Murphy and brought the Rangers within 2.  Unfortunately, that was the last of the Texas rally as the Orioles’ relievers held the Rangers to just 1 hit over the next 2 1/3 innings.

With the loss, coupled with an Oakland win, the Rangers lead in the AL West is down to 5 games.

The Rangers will host the Orioles again tonight at 7:05pm.  Derek Holland will be on the mound for Texas to face former Ranger Tommy Hunter in the deciding game of the series.
