The Texas Rangers ended their 10 game homestand with an 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Rangers finished 7-3 during the period.

Texas starting pitcher Matt Harrison gave up 6 runs in the first two innings, which proved to be too much for the Rangers to overcome.  Harrison would leave the game after 5 1/3 innings.  The Rays earned 7 runs on 12 hits off Harrison, who drops to 15-8 on the season.

Harrison has lost both starts against the Rays this season.  “I have 26 hits against the same team in two games – that’s not very good,” said Harrison.

The Rangers tried to battle back on the power of Mitch Moreland and Josh Hamilton, who each hit home runs.

With the A’s winning Wednesday against the Indians, the Rangers lead in the AL West drops to 4 1/2 games.  Texas will have the day off before traveling to Cleveland on Friday.
