Rangers lose to Toronto 10-3

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Matt Harrison was hit early and often as the Toronto Blue Jays blasted the Texas Rangers 10-3 Tuesday night at the Ballpark in Arlington.  Harrison gave up 5 runs in the top of the first inning to set the tone for the game.

The Rangers made a rally in the 2nd inning, scoring 3 runs to bring the game within 2.

Toronto quickly closed the door, adding 2 more runs off Harrison in the 3rd inning before welcoming Texas middle reliever Brett Tomko with a 3-run homer in the 4th to seal the game.

Harrison falls to 3-2 on the season after going only 3 innings, allowing 7 earned runs with only 1 strikeout.

Texas could not get any production from the top of the order, with only 2 of it’s 10 hits coming from the first 6 in the lineup.  Michael Young went 0-for-4 to end his 15-game hitting streak.

Yorvit Torrealba, Chris Davis, and Julio Borbon each had multiple hits on the night.

Toronto outfielder Adam Lind hit 2 home runs, his 3rd multi-homer game against the Rangers.

Texas and Toronto play again tonight at 7:05pm.
