Rangers Power Past Royals

The Texas Rangers took full advantage of strong winds as they hit a season-high 5 home runs in the 11-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals Friday night at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Every Ranger batter had at least one hit, led by Michael Young, who had 3 to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

Ian Kinsler, Adrian Beltre, Mike Napoli, David Murphy, and Mitch Moreland all homered for the Rangers.  The Texas home runs came in each inning between the 3rd and 7th.

Starting pitcher Derek Holland improved his record to 3-1 with nine strikeouts in seven full innings.

The Royals and Rangers play again tonight at 7:05pm.
