Four Texas Rangers pitchers combined to shut out the San Francisco Giants on Sunday in a 5-0 win at AT&T Park.

Starter Alexi Ogando only pitched 3 innings before coming out of the game with a groin strain.  Robbie Ross came in and pitched the next 4 innings to earn the win, his sixth of the year (6-0).  Mike Adams and Joe Nathan pitched an inning each in relief.   The Giants were held to just 3 hits in the game.

The Rangers generated 11 hits on the day to give S.F. pitcher Tim Lincecum his 7th loss on the year.  Ian Kinsler and Craig Gentry were the only Rangers to have multiple hits, with 2 each.  The Rangers had 2 triples in the game, by Elvis Andrus and David Murphy.

The win gives the Rangers 2 out of 3 over the Giants, with both victories shutouts.  “We won the series, now we can get back home and play better baseball,” said catcher Mike Napoli.  “This was a good series win against a good pitcher.”

The Rangers return home to open a series against Arizona on Tuesday night at the Ballpark in Arlington.  First pitch is at 7:05pm.
