Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers announced this evening that left-handed pitcher Matt Harrison has agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2012 season. No further terms were disclosed.

With Harrison’s agreement, three unsigned Rangers remain eligible for salary arbitration: catcher Mike Napoli, infielder Elvis Andrus, and outfielder Nelson Cruz.

Harrison was 14-9 with a 3.39 ERA in 31 games/30 starts with the Rangers in 2011. He had the second lowest ERA among Texas starters, was second on the staff in quality starts (20), and tied for third in wins. Harrison issued just 13 home runs in 185.2 innings with his ratio of 0.63 HR per 9.0 innings ranking as fourth best in the A.L. He was 3-0, 2.04 in five starts during July.

Harrison is 30-19, 4.49 in 94 games/62 starts in his major league career with the Rangers from 2008-2011. He was acquired from Atlanta in a seven-player trade in July 2007.
