Rangers Sweep A’s for 7th Straight Win

The Texas Rangers completed the sweep of the Oakland A’s with a 2-0 win at the Ballpark in Arlington.  It is the 10th shutout of the season for Texas, who end the first half of the season with a 1-game lead over the Angels in the AL West.

Starting pitcher Matt Harrison went 7 2/3 innings, striking out 7 to even his record at 7-7.  Neftali Feliz closed out the game for his 18th save.

Adrian Beltre hit a 2-run home run with 2 out in the 6th for the only scores of the game.

In other Rangers news, pitcher Alexi Ogando will be in the All-Star game, replacing C.C. Sabathia.  Sabathia pitched on Sunday, making him ineligible per MLB rules.
