Rangers Sweep Mariners For 11th Straight

The Texas Rangers completed a road sweep of the Seattle Mariners Sunday with a 3-1 victory.  The win is the 11th in a row for the Rangers.

Texas got all 3 runs in the 2nd inning on a home run by Mitch Moreland.  It was all that was needed as Matt Harrison went 7 2/3 innings, giving up just 1 run for his 8th win of the season.  Neftali Feliz earned his 20th save of the season.  The Mariners have never gotten a hit against Feliz in his entire career.

The Texas pitchers have allowed just 2 runs in the last 5 games, best in team history over a 5-game stretch.  During the 11 game winning streak, the Rangers pitchers have held opponents to a .194 batting average and have an ERA of 2.09.

The Rangers have now increased their lead in the AL West to 4 games over the L.A. Angels.  Texas opens a series against the Angels in L.A. on Tuesday.
