Rangers top Mariners

The Texas Rangers broke their 3-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 5-2 win in Seattle over the Mariners.

C.J. Wilson pitched a complete game for the Rangers, striking out 12 batters while allowing just 6 hits.  The Rangers’ ace improved to 4-1 on the season.  Wilson gave up 5 of the hits in the first 4 innings, but finished strong, retiring 17 of the last 18 batters he faced.

Mitch Moreland and Chris Davis each hit solo home runs for Texas.

The Rangers were aggressive on the base paths, too.  After Ian Kinsler got on base with a walk, he stole second, then was bunted to third, and then scored on a wild pitch.   Texas only had 4 runners left on base for the game.

The Rangers and Mariners play again tonight.
