Rangers Win 9th Straight

The Texas Rangers match their longest win streak of the year by shutting out the Mariners 4-0 Friday night in Seattle.

Starter Colby Lewis went 8 2/3 shutout innings, striking out 8 while giving up only 4 hits.  Neftali Feliz earned his 19th save by throwing only 2 pitches to get the final out.  Lewis gets his 9th win of the season.

Ian Kinsler led the Rangers at the plate, going 2-for-4 and scoring twice while increasing his hitting streak to 11 games.  The middle of the lineup did it’s job, with Hamilton, Beltre, and Young each getting RBIs.  Adding to the RBI list was Endy Chavez.

Texas pitchers have now gone 29 scoreless innings as the Rangers get their 3rd shutout in a row.  C.J. Wilson will try to keep the streak going tonight against Seattle.
