The Texas Rangers lost their third straight game to the Yankees in New York on Wednesday night.

Despite Josh Hamilton hitting a pair of home runs, the Yankees came out on top 3-2.

Hamilton accounted for two of the Rangers’ four hits in the game and their only runs.  He leads the majors in home runs with 34.

Texas starting pitcher Scott Feldman struck out seven in his six innings of work, but gave up all three New York runs to drop to 6-8 on the season.

The Rangers offense has been non-existent against the Yankees, scoring just 4 runs in the series and hitting only .152.

Hamilton summed up the Rangers woes,  “It’s not like we’re not giving the effort or putting forth the effort. They’re swinging the bats pretty good and we’re not. We’re cold and they’re hot. Their pitching has been pretty good.”

Texas will try to turn things around in the series finale today at Yankee Stadium.  The Rangers are clinging to a 6-game lead in the AL West.  Derek Holland will be on the mound for the Rangers against Ivan Nova.
