Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo did not practice Saturday afternoon as the team continues to be cautious while he recovers from back surgery.
Romo watched the team’s morning walk-through. The Cowboys had Friday off, which gave Romo an extra day of rest.
Romo said earlier in the week that he might not play in the Cowboys’ preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers next Thursday. However, he does expect to see some action in exhibition games as he prepares for the regular-season opener on Sept. 7 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Romo practiced part of this week. He had surgery in December.
