Sadler on pole for AAA Texas 500

Elliott Sadler won the Coors Light Pole Award for the AAA Texas 500 with a lap of 27.636 seconds for a speed of 195.397 mph.  It is Sadler’s 8th career pole and first of 2010.

It is the fastest pole of the year, the 2nd fastest since Talladega in 1999.  The 2006 fall race at Texas was 196.235 mph.  All of the top-12 drivers posted faster speeds than the previous fastest pole of 2010.

Sadler already had a good day, as it was announced he will drive full-time for Kevin Harvick, Inc. in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2011.

Greg Biffle will start 2nd, his 7th top-10 start in 14 races at Texas Motor Speedway.  Carl Edwards will start 3rd.
