Scheffler, Homa & Spieth Lead Stacked Field at Colonial

Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player n the world and reigning Masters champion is Colonial bound for the 78th Charles Schwab Challenge along with Max Homa, Jordan Spieth, Brian Harman, Collin Morikawa and an elite field of 133 players.

Last year’s champion Emiliano Grillo will defend his title as PGA TOUR stars compete for a $9.1 million purse. This year’s champion will pocket $1,566,000 and drive off in a one-of-a-kind Champion’s Prize, a fully restored and modernized 1975 Schwab Stingray.

The field features top 15 world-ranked players in Scheffler, Homa (9th), 10th world-ranked Harman, reigning champ of The OPEN Championship, and Morikawa (13th).

Ten former Charles Schwab Challenge champions will also be competing; Grillo, two-time champion Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Daniel Berger, Chris Kirk, Kevin Kisner, Justin Rose, Rory Sabbatini, Adam Scott and Olin Browne.

Notable players committed to the field include Rickie Fowler, Billy Horschel, Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker, Keegan Bradley and hometown favorites Ryan Palmer and Tom Hoge.

2023-24 PGA TOUR season tournament winners in the field include Scheffler, Morikawa, Kirk, Horschel, Tom Kim, Luke List, Camilo Villegas, Grayson Murray, Nick Dunlap, Jake Knapp, Austin Eckroat, Bruce Garnett, Peter Malnati, Stephen Jaeger, Akshay Bhatia and Chris Gotterup.
