Scottie Scheffler Wins The Memorial

Scottie Scheffler solidified his place atop the golf world with a gritty one-stroke victory at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday.

Battling challenging course conditions at Muirfield Village Golf Club, Scheffler carded a final-round 2-over 74 to finish at 8-under par for the tournament, good enough to top two-time major champion Collin Morikawa by a single shot.

This win marks Scheffler’s fifth of the 2024 season and the 11th of his PGA Tour career. He narrowly edged out the Signature Event’s talented field, showcasing the kind of dominance rarely seen since prime Tiger Woods.

A Close Call Becomes a Celebration

The final round was a nail-biter. Scheffler, chasing his first Memorial title after a second-place finish in 2023, needed all his composure to hold off a charging pack. His final putt on the 18th green sealed the deal, sparking a celebration that acknowledged the significance of the moment.

“It was pretty special thinking about that as I was walking over to shake (Jack’s) hand today,” Scheffler said after the victory.

Dominant Through 2024

Scheffler’s win is the culmination of a remarkable season. He has finished outside the top-10 only once and has strung together a series of impressive finishes, including victories at the Masters, the Players, Arnold Palmer Invitational and the RBC Heritage with runner ups in Houston and at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.

With the U.S. Open on the horizon, Scheffler heads into the next major on a high note.
