SMU Opens Season With Win
The SMU Mustangs opened the 2018-2019 season with a 69-58 victory over Northwestern State Thursday night at Moody Coliseum.

Jimmy Whitt, Jr. led the Mustangs with 19 points and 5 assists on 7 of 12 shooting from the field. Nat Dixon added 13 points. Ethan Chargois just missed a double-double with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
SMU won the battle in the paint, outscoring Northwester State 32-18.
Ishmael Lane led the way for Northwestern State with 24 points and and 13 rebounds.
SMU returns to action Sunday against Southern Miss. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
