DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks today announced their 2026-27 schedule presented by Ticketmaster, which tips off on the road against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. CT. Dallas is set to open on the road for the first time since doing so in four straight seasons from 2020-21 to 2023-24.
Following the team’s opener at Houston, Dallas will head to Indianapolis to face Tyrese Haliburton and the 2025 Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers on Friday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. CT.
The Mavericks will then return home to take on Victor Wembanyama and the defending Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. CT. It will mark the third straight year that Dallas will face division-rival San Antonio in its home opener.
The 2026-27 campaign will mark the 47th season in Mavericks history, including the club’s 26th playing at American Airlines Center. Dallas is currently scheduled to play 21 nationally televised games, including eight on NBC, six on ESPN, four on Prime, two on Peacock and one on ABC.
The team’s local broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.
The NBA Cup 2026, the league’s fourth annual in-season competition, will begin in team markets and culminate with the Championship on Friday, Dec. 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Dallas opens Group Play against Houston at home on Oct. 30, before facing 2026 No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson and the Utah Jazz at American Airlines Center (Nov. 6), Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets on the road (Nov. 24), and Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on the road (Nov. 27).
Three of Dallas’ first four games and 10 of the team’s final 15 games will take place on the road. The Mavericks’ longest road trip of the year is a five-game slate occurring against all Western Conference teams from March 17 to 24, four of which made the playoffs a season ago (Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota).
Dallas is scheduled to play a season-high 17 games during the month of January. The club has a pair of season-long four-game homestands in February (Feb. 6 to 11) and March (March 9 to 15).
In between those two four-game homestands is a three-game set in Dallas against Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers (Feb. 28), Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors (March 2), and Jalen Brunson and the defending NBA champion New York Knicks (March 4).
Reigning two-time NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder will visit Dallas twice in 2026-27 (Oct. 28 and Jan. 18). Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat will make their only appearance at American Airlines Center on Dec. 29. Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons will make their sole trip to Dallas on Jan. 29, while LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers make their only trip to American Airlines Center on Feb. 15.
Dallas is slated to play 16 back-to-backs, including eight that begin and end on the road, four that begin and end at home, three that are road-to-home, and one that is home-to-road.
