NORMAN, Okla. — Sophomore forward Ryan Spangler had his Big 12-leading eighth double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds, and No. 25 Oklahoma held on for a 77-69 win over TCU on Wednesday night at Lloyd Noble Center.

Sophomore guard Buddy Hield added 16 points for the Sooners (15-4, 4-2 Big 12), and senior forward Cameron Clark scored 15.

TCU (9-9, 0-6) received a game-high 23 points from junior guard Kyan Anderson.

Oklahoma didn’t put the game away until Spangler’s 3-pointer at the shot-clock buzzer gave the Sooners a 10-point lead with less than 35 seconds remaining.

Several times, Oklahoma seemed poised to turn the game into the expected blowout, but the Horned Frogs wouldn’t go away.

Clark, the Sooners’ leading scorer, scored five quick points on back-to-back possessions midway through the second half to put the Sooners up by 10.

But just as it had after a similar run in the first half gave

Oklahoma a double-digit lead, TCU quickly recovered.

Horned Frogs junior forward Amric Fields drilled a 3-pointer, and the Sooners immediately turned the ball over on Clark’s off-the-ball foul on the shot.

Moments later, Anderson hit another 3-pointer.

TCU tied the score on Fields’ bucket with less than four minutes remaining.

The Horned Frogs hung with the Sooners in the first half, withstanding a 9-0 Oklahoma run late in the half to go into the break trailing by just four.

Oklahoma didn’t hit a field goal in the final three minutes of the first half.

Clark hit two of the Sooners’ six first-half 3-pointers to help Oklahoma build an early lead.

Oklahoma reeled off the 9-0 run over two minutes late in the half, with Clark’s steal setting up Hield’s 3-pointer in the middle of the stretch.

Spangler controlled the boards early, pulling down 11 rebounds before halftime.

Even with Spangler’s performance, though, TCU outrebounded the Sooners before halftime 21-19.

But after junior forward D.J. Bennett’s dunk coming off back-to-back blocks on the other end put the Sooners up 11, Oklahoma’s offense disappeared and TCU took advantage to chip away the lead before half.
