TCU Wins Home Opener

The TCU Horned Frogs won their home opener for the 10th consecutive time under coach Gary Patterson.  TCU’s 38-17 victory over Louisiana-Monroe marked the 21st consecutive home win, a Mountain West Conference record.  It is the 3rd longest home winning streak in the nation.  Only Oklahoma and Boise State have longer.

Gary Patterson won his 100th game as TCU’s head coach.  Patterson just needs 10 more wins to pass Dutch Meyer as TCU’s all-time winningest coach.

Louisiana-Monroe led 17-14 at the end of the 1st quarter but TCU came alive in the 2nd half, scoring 17 unanswered points.

Josh Boyce had his third career 100 yard receiving game with a career-high 134 yards.  ‘

Quarterback Casey Pachall was 15-of-23 for 204 yards and a touchdown.

TCU kicker Ross Evans has scored 325 points, passing LaDanian Tomlinson for most in Horned Frog history.

Running back James Waymon led TCU’s ground attack with 89 yards on 11 carries.

The Horned Frogs host Portland State next Saturday in Fort Worth.
