FORT WORTH, Texas – Junior forward Chelsea Prince notched her first-career double-double but the TCU women’s basketball team fell short to No. 5 Baylor on Saturday afternoon by a score of 69-46 at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

Prince posted 12 points while tying a season best with 10 rebounds to go with four steals, while sophomore guard Zahna Medley also scored in double figures, finishing with 13 points and matching a season high with six rebounds.

Junior forward Natalie Ventress added nine points while senior center Latricia Lovings extended her school-record streak of games with a block to 66 with five rejections.

The Horned Frogs (15-12, 6-9) went back-and-forth with the Lady Bears (24-3, 14-1) early on, but suffered through a near nine-minute scoring drought as Baylor’s Odyssey Sims sunk a runner at the buzzer to put TCU behind 30-15 at the break.

TCU quickly chipped away at the halftime deficit, as Medley opened the second half just like the beginning of the contest with a 3-pointer to bring the Lady Bears within 12 points.

With just over 12 minutes remaining, Prince crashed the glass to grab an offensive rebound and converted an acrobatic reverse layup to cut the deficit to 40-29.

Prince snagged another offensive board on the next possession and was

fouled on the putback attempt, sinking both free throws as the Frogs came within nine points (40-31) at the 11:24 mark.

Medley would connect on her third trey of the contest to keep the deficit at 12 points at the 8:10 mark, but Sims answered with a long-range bucket of her own as Baylor eased to the victory.

The Frogs forced 14 turnovers with 10 blocks and 10 steals, but the Lady Bears would score 15 points off of TCU’s 13 miscues.

Sims, who entered the contest leading the nation with over 30 points per game, led four Lady Bears in double figures with 17 points.

The Frogs return to action against Texas at 7 p.m., on Tuesday in Austin.
