Texas Takes Series In Boston

The Texas Rangers scored 7 runs in the sixth inning to trounce the Boston Red Sox 11-4 at Fenway Park.

Ian Kinsler, who counted a home run and a triple among his 3 hits, led the Rangers offense.  Texas scattered 15 hits throughout the lineup.

In the 6th inning, with Texas leading 2-0, the first 6 batters all got on base.  After a sacrifice fly by Kinsler, Josh Hamilton sent 3 more Rangers across the plate with a triple to center.  By the time the inning was over, the Rangers lead was an insurmountable 9-0.

Starting pitcher Matt Harrison earned his 11th win of the season.  Harrison went 7 innings, giving up just 2 runs while striking out 5.

Texas remains 3 1/2 games ahead of the Angels for the lead in the AL West.  The Rangers open a series in Tampa tomorrow.
