Tiger Woods Has Back Procedure, Will Miss Torrey Pines and Riviera
|Sports fans last saw Tiger Woods in December when he joined his his 11-year-old son Charlie in the PNC Championship and it will be a while before the 15-time major champion will tee it up again on the PGA Tour after it was announced that he has “undergone a microdiscectomy procedure to remove a pressurized disc fragment that was pinching his nerve after experiencing discomfort following the PNC Championship.”

“I look forward to begin training and am focused on getting back out on tour,” Woods said in a statement.
Woods won his 15th major at the 2019 Masters and his 82nd PGA Tour victory at the 2019 ZOZO Championship in Japan.
Following a tie for ninth at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, he struggled in 2020 and concluded his season with a tie for 38th at the Masters in November.
