Tommy Hunter and Neftali Feliz to pitch on rehab assignment at Frisco

Oakland, CA — The Texas Rangers today announced that right-handed pitchers Tommy Hunter and Neftali Feliz will be sent on rehab assignment to Frisco (AA) of the Texas League on Wednesday.

Hunter, who has been on the 15-day disabled list all season with a right groin strain sustained in spring training, will start for the RoughRiders on Wednesday vs. San Antonio at Dr Pepper Ballpark and is scheduled to pitch 3-4 innings. Hunter, who has been continuing his rehab in the Rangers extended spring program in Arizona, threw a bullpen today and will fly back to Texas on Tuesday.

Feliz, who has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 23 (retroactive to April 21) with right shoulder inflammation, will also pitch for Frisco on Wednesday and is scheduled to throw 1.0 inning. He threw a bullpen prior to the Rangers-A’s game in Oakland this afternoon. Feliz has a 1.08 ERA and 5 saves in 8 appearances with Texas this season.
