Young drivers gather at Texas Motor Speedway

Young drivers from as far as Alaska, New York and Canada will be competing in this weekend’s Bandolero Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway. The Bandolero class is divided into two divisions with the Bando Bandits (kids 8-12) and Bando Outlaws (12 and older).
The Bandolero Nationals is an opportunity for young drivers to showcase their talents to those in the racing industry. Several of NASCAR’s biggest stars started their careers in the Bandolero divisions before making it to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, including Joey Logano, David Ragan and Reed Sorenson.
A trio of drivers will represent Texas Motor Speedway’s Lone Star Legends during the Bandolero Nationals. Zack King of Southlake, Texas, and Michael Meek of Moore, Okla., will look to earn the championship in the Bando Bandits division while David Walsh III of Southlake, Texas, will vie for the title in the Bando Outlaw division.

Fans can watch the future stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as Gates open at 6 p.m. CT followed by racing at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and children 5 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Gate 4 box office. For more information visit www.lonestarlegends.net.
