Michael Young’s 2000th hit wasn’t much of a factor in the Texas Rangers come from behind win over the Cleveland Indians on Sunday night at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Young had 2 hits on the night, both infield singles.  The second was for career hit 2000.  Through 7 innings, Young accounted for 2 of the Rangers only 3 hits in the game, as the Rangers could not score against Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin.

Texas came alive in the bottom of the 8th.  Trailing by 3 runs, the Rangers put 6 straight batters on base with 4 hits and 2 walks.  By the time the 9th inning came around, Texas was leading 5-3.

Mike Adams was brought in to close, and retired all 3 Cleveland batters for his 2nd save as a Ranger.

The Rangers starting pitcher, Colby Lewis, went 7 1/3 innings in the no-decision, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits.  Darren Oliver is credited for the win, pitching just 2/3 of an inning.

Texas remains 1 game ahead of the LA Angels in the AL West and will begin a home series against Seattle tonight.
