Rangers Take 2-1 ALDS Lead

The Texas Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-three ALDS.

The Rangers got all 4 runs in the 7th inning.  Mike Napoli hit a 2-run home run to put the Rangers on the board.  Josh Hamilton knocked in the other two runs with a bases loaded single.

Colby Lewis allowed just 1 run on 1 hit in 6 innings to get the win.  Darren Oliver gave up 3 hits and a run while getting just one batter out.  Alexi Ogando shut down the Rays to finish Oliver’s inning.  Mike Adams gave up a run in the 8th before turning it over to Michael Gonzalez who strikes out 1 batter before Neftali Feliz came in to finish the game. 

The Rangers produced 9 hits in the game, led by Napoli, who was 2 for 3.

Texas will try to close out the series Tuesday at 1:00pm with Matt Harrison on the mound.
