Nowitzki Powers Mavs Past Celtics

Dirk Nowitzki led the Dallas Mavericks past the Boston Celtics 89-73 Monday night at the American Airlines Center. Nowitzki scored a game-high 26 points while moving into 20th place all-time on the NBA scoring chart. As if that wasn’t enough, Nowitzki also grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds and made is 1000th block.
Jason Kidd moved into the record books also, passing Michael Jordon in steals to move into 2nd place all-time. Kidd finished the game with 8 assists and 3 steals.
Jason Terry scored 16 for the Mavs, and Shawn Marion added 11.
Dallas has now won 7 of the last 8 games.
The Mavericks will host the Lakers on Wednesday.
