Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans defeated the Tulsa Oilers by a 5-3 score on Friday night at Allen Event Center, starting a three in three weekend.

After a scoreless first period, the Americans got on the board first in the second, as Kevin Young with some nifty stick handling in front of the Tulsa net, put one home past Kevin Carr on a great pass from Jack Combs, for his third goal of the season. The Oilers tied the game on a Drew Fisher power play goal, his eighth of the year and the game is tied 1-1 after two periods.

The Americans broke open the game in the third with four unanswered goals scored by Chad Costello (17), Jamie Schaafsma (5), Ian Schultz (8) and Rylan Schwartz (2) to give Allen a 5-1 lead. Tulsa would close the gap to 5-3 at the 16:14 mark, but that would be the last of the scoring as Allen won for the nineteenth time this year.

The Americans travel to Wichita tomorrow night for a 7:05 pm game against the Thunder. Pregame show is at 6:50 pm on www.allenamericans.com
