Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans fall to the Ontario Reign 3-0, on Monday night, as Ontario evens the series at 1-1 headed back to California for Game 3 on Thursday night.

On a night where the Americans put up 35 shots, they were unable to solve Reign goaltender Joe Canatta, who was perfect with 35 saves. Riley Gill was solid as well for Allen stopping, 21 of 23 Reign shots. Gary Nunn who opened the scoring 1:14 into the second frame, wound up with the game winner for Ontario, as his goal would be all the Reign would need to even the series.

“We didn’t create enough traffic in front of Cannata,” said Americans forward Greger Hanson. “He is a great goalie, but we didn’t test him enough. We have to fix that on Thursday.”

The Reign had both a power play and shorthanded goal in the game. The shorthanded goal came late in the third, as former Americans defenseman Matt Register fired the puck down the ice and into the empty net to seal the Ontario victory.

The series now shifts to Ontario for Games 3, 4 and 5, with Game 5 on Thursday night. You can watch every away game at Game On in Allen.
